Kiran Rijiju, MoS Home, Takes Sukhoi-30mki Sortie From Halwara Air Force Station

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiran Rijiju, took a Su-30mki sortie today morning. He flew in the mighty supersonic fighter jet of Indian Air Force (IAF) from Halwara air base station in Punjab.

Former President and Supreme Commander of Indian Forces Pratibha Devi Singh Patil and APJ Abdul Kalam also flew in the fighter in 2006 and 2009. Last year, NDA Minister for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Rajiv Pratap Rudy and MoS Defence, Rao Inderjit Singh, flew in the Russian power horse of IAF, Su-30mki.

IAF Chief Arup Raha has invited Rijiju for air familiarization sortie. Minister went through a tough medical test which he cleared. Generally, table top test are also required for aerial manoeuvre.
