Lt. Gen. Subrata Saha Reviews The Attestation Parade At Assam Regimental Centre

Subrata Saha, Deputy Chief of Army Staff (P&S) and Colonel of The Assam
Regiment & Arunachal Scouts reviewed the attestation parade of the Assam
Regimental Centre on 14 May 2016. The scintillating ceremony conducted at
Parsons Parade Ground of Assam Regimental Centre witnessed 295 Recruits of the
315 Batch getting attested. The parade ground was graced by the proud parents
and relatives of the passing out trainees apart from a large number of military
dignitaries and civilian guests.
In his address to the attested young
soldiers, the Reviewing Officer extolled the virtues of selfless service to the
nation and recounted the contributions of the Northeast and Assam Regiment
towards nation building. Complementing the passing out batch for their
immaculate standards, Lt Gen Subrata Saha encouraged the warriors from the
Northeast to persevere in pursuit of excellence and announced that the Platinum
Jubilee celebrations of the Regiment will be held from 16 to 19 November 2016
wherein Colours will be presented to 16 & 17 ASSAM and 1 and 2 Arunachal
Scouts.

Jun 1941, this Year is being celebrated as the Platinum Jubilee of the Assam
Regiment. In its glorious history, the Regiment has earned Seven Battle
Honours, three Theatre Honours, nine Chief of the Army Staff Citation, 23 Army
Commanders Citation and two United Nations Citations apart from 55 Individual
honours and awards pre independence and 1548 post independence.
