PM Modi's address at the Joint Session of U S Congress in Washington DC
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a joint session of the U.S. Congress on Wednesday.
In his address of joint meeting of U.S. Congress PM Modi said "Terrorism is incubated in India’s neighbourhood. Humanity must speak in one voice. Terrorism must be delegitimised".
Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi also thanked the US for showing solidarity after terrorists struck Mumbai in 2008.
Modi was invited to Capitol Hill by House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan, who in April described Indo-US ties as “a pillar of strength in an important region of the world”.
PM Modi is on his fourth visit to the U.S., during which he has met with President Barack Obama, business leaders and think-tank chiefs, Messrs. Obama and Modi on Tuesday announced that the U.S. and India would move ahead with the construction of six nuclear reactors in India by an American company.
The prime minister also spelled out how a successful partnership between India and the U.S. can bring peace, prosperity, and stability from Asia to Africa and from Indian Ocean to the Pacific.
