Admiral Harry B. Harris: "India & US must shape the new normal, the global operating system"

Admiral Harry B. Harris, Commander, Pacific Command, USA, while delivering his keynote address at Raisina Dialogue 2017 in New Delhi, said "India and US must shape the new normal, which I call the global operating system".

"LEMOA allows India and US to increase operational endurance and reach".

"Three foundational agreements will add value. Looking forward to concluding other two with India".

"Biggest challenge in the region is threat to maritime freedom of navigation and security".

"Sigging of CISMOA will now be upto new US administration to take forward".

Admiral Harry B. Harris stressed upon expanding joint exercises with India involving P-8I maritime patrol aircraft, which both countries operate.

He also said that there are some impediments in furthering Indo-US relations, bureaucracy, history and trust. These need to overcome with patience.
