First Women Contingent of Assam Rifles Participated In Republic Day Parade -2017 At Kohima

Sentinals of North East, the oldest Para Military Force of the nation took a lead and created history by participation of its first ever Republic Day Parade contingent of Rifleman (General Duty-Mahila) in the Republic Day Parade 2017 at, Kohima. It was a proud moment for the force to behold this laudable performance of the Assam Rifles women contingent that marched on the tunes of the exemplary pipe band of 3 (Naga Hills), the oldest of the Assam Rifles Batallions.
The participation of the Assam Rifles women contingent in Republic Day Parade was a true display of the might and equality of women, serving in the security forces. The contingent comprised 38 women from various Assam Rifles’ units led by a JCO contingent cdr from 3 (Naga Hills) Assam Rifles. The occasion was graced by the baronial presence of Padmanabha Acharya, the Governor of Nagaland who took the salute and inspected the parade.
It was an unrivaled display of grit and fortitude put forward by the enthusiastic women in armed forces. This was a sumptuous performance which has set standards for other to emulate and has promulgated the essence of women power in uniform.
