Defence Acquisition Council Approves AoN For Intermediate Level Engine Repair Facility For Mig-29K

Defence Acquisition Council led by Raksha Mantri Manohar Parrikar today approved two AoNs (Acceptance of Necessity) in a meeting at South Block. AoN approval was given to set up Intermediate Level Engine Repair Facility for Mig-29K Shore Based Naval Aircraft Yard at Goa.

AoN was also awarded for the continuation of coastal surveillance radar for the second phase, a part of Static Sensor Chain for Gapless Electronic Surveillance along the coastline under Buy Indian Category. This contract is to be given to BEL at the cost of 800 crores involving 38 additional Radar Stations (current 46), 4 mobile surveillance stations and integration of Vessel Traffic Management System in Gulf of Kutch and Khambat. 

Besides the two AoNs, DAC also discuss other procurements, said a Defence Ministry Source.
