Based on intelligence input, ambush laid by Rustom Battalion (4 Garhwal Rifles), 161 Infantry Brigade Sector of 19 Infantry Division.

Armed intruders intercepted 500-600m from Line of Control.

Firefight commenced at 1930h on 26 May.

Firefight lasted till 2200h on 26 May.

During search operations, 4x AK-47, two pistols, one UBGL,  large quantity of arms, ammunition and other warlike stores recovered.

Tral Operations of 26-27 May 2017

Based on intelligence input of two/ three terrorists hidden in a house in Soyimu in Tral.

Terrorists are ugly before & also after death

Operations commenced on night 26-27 May 17.

Contact established at 0815h.

In the firefight two terrorists killed.

Recoveries include one AK-47, one INSAS Rifle, large quantity of arms, ammunition and other warlike stores. 

Three operations since yesterday (in which two armed intruders were killed in Uri Sector) be seen as Pakistan’s desperation to accelerate operations on a higher scale and relentless counter terrorism operations by the Indian Army from the Line of Control to the hinterland.
