Terrorist Fires At Indian Army In Response To Wife's Plea To Surrender, Gets Killed

NationalDefence Bureau,
New Delhi, 09 March 2017
Security Forces tried their best to avoid killing a local terrorist at Padgampora village near Awantipur town of South Kashmir, early morning today. Despite having been fired at by a hiding local terrorist, Security Forces made all efforts to take surrender rather than killing.

While the cordon was being placed, one terrorist was eliminated when he tried to flee. The second terrorist, Md Safiq Shergujri hid himself in a cluster of houses. Realizing he is a local, in an attempt to avoid bloodshed and to bring the holed up local terrorist back to mainstream, Security Forces facilitated wife of terrorist Md Safiq Shergujri to reach the encounter site.

To persuade him to surrender, his wife Dilshada made repeated requests by making announcements on a loudhailer. The terrorist did not relent to requests of her 25 years young wife and refused to surrender.

The lady was extended all assistance and through her conveyed assurance that no harm would be done if he surrenders. However despite this very humane approach and paying no heed to the pleas of his wife, the terrorist decided not to give up arms and in turn started engaging SF with auto fire.

Left with no choice, SF in a  methodical and coordinated search and destroy op eliminated the terrorist.
